Pre Requisites:

Contacts & Settings – Use Android default backup options.

      Go ahead and flash it , this rom will work on any international variants of S2 i9100. (people with G model will have to wait for a little longer)

      It’s so new but you should expect a low battery life as it comes with many more feature but that won’t be big enough to worry.

          And why you think so? You should know official firmware installation procedure restore everything if your device running on official firmware earlier. We flash ROM and custom firmware regularly but may be you have better knowledge than us.

      Yes, it is always advised by the experts that u should factory reset your phone before & after flashing any rom . As it might conflicts with the earlier version of the rom , Also it will clear any cache file left over by the earlier version which will affect the smoothness & response of the phone.

      Wait little, since this is very new firmware than what we have earlier (4.0.4) we have to wait for a pre-rooted kernel or something similar.

    installed on sgs2 gt-i9100 in india….if you are upgrading from custom rom please do data wipe and factory reset….working very nicely …no multiwindow though

    I already flashed an unofficial version (XXLS8) and when I tried to flash this official one last night, it all appeared to work correctly, but when the phone comes back on, nothing had happened! Any idea?

      Just check your About devices under settings to see if your phone updated or not. Both are Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean so you won’t see much change here.

        yep, definitely didn’t update. main reasons I want to are that there are a couple of bugs in the version I use and also I’d like to go back to an official version for the benefit of my warranty.

          factory reset your phone & clear partition in recovery mode before flashing the rom.. i’m sure you will not regret after flashing this Rom. it is the most stable rom released by the samsung for S2 i9100 , All the best ;)

      Not sure about that as network usually have own modem. What’s your network and Country? We will find an original firmware for you so that if this firmware don’t work the way you want, you can always roll back using your original firmware.

        Hello arafat21, my question is the same. My S2 is locked on Orange network, Romania. Will this update work ? Will I lose the waranty?

          If you own a network locked device then you shouldn’t try this else you have to find a supported modem to receive calls and other carrier related service. Installing official firmware won’t void your warranty.

    update went without any problems, however kies is saying “Your Device’s current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies” anyone know why this is? (its the latest version of kies: 2.5.1.12123_2)

      The firmware currently available in certain country. You will see the same massage until Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware available for your country via KIES.

      As this is an official firmware it shouldn’t delete anything on your internal SD CARD but still backup is recommended.

    Major problems after flashing this version turns out the rooted kernel that was recommended completely fubard the phone , I ended up having to do a complete wipe and reinstall (everything wiped) and installed the jeboo kernel which actually works and now it’s ok although having loads of problems with the camera which worked perfectly on ics and not being able to get rid of the “use motion” annoying reminder.. Beware

      If its carrier unlocked device then it should work. We really don’t know what’s going on.

    Hi there. I’m in South Africa and would like to run this ROM. How do I check if my phone is networked locked, and if it’s not will this ROM work with South African Vodacom network. thanks

      Network lock device means, you bought the device from a carrier and you can’t use any other SIM but only what your carrier (such as Vodafone) given. If that’s not the case then you can flash this firmware without any problem.
