An official firmware for HTC Thunderbolt (also known as HTC Incredible HD, HTC Droid Thunderbolt For Verizon) now available in wild for download. The leaked ROM is actually Android 4.0.3 ICS ROM for the Thunderbolt from HTC and Verizon. Importantly everything working fine in this ROM including 3g/4g, phone calls, sms/mms and more. Another notable function is, HTC included Sense 3.6 in this ROM which means by installing this ROM you can actually upgrade your existing Sense 2.1 to Sense 3.6.
This leaked ROM is modified by teambamf.net to make it more useful. The ROM is now deodexed and rooted (ChainsDD Superuser and an unsecured ramdisk). Another good part is, all of the HTC spyware has been removed from this leaked ROM.
This guide below is compatible only and only with the HTC Thunderbolt from Verizon. It’s not compatible with any other HTC Thunderbolt devices. Check your device model in Settings» About phone.
Rooting Information: Once your device is rooted, warranty will get void; However, you can reclaim the warranty by applying official firmware update.
