How To Install XXLPZ Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware on I9070 Galaxy S Advance

Galaxy S Advance I9070 started to receive its share of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean but unfortunately the official firmware still rolling out in Russia and not other country. However, the firmware can be used in other countries as reported by many users without any problem. The new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update that rolled out for Galaxy S Advance I9070 is I9070XXLPZ Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The earlier build which is I9070XXLPY Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean comes with many issues, we assume all those issues will be fixed after installing this new firmware I9070XXLPZ Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. You can use your smartphone default firmware update feature or use official Samsung tool KIES to update your  Galaxy S Advance I9070 to I9070XXLPZ Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware. However, if you unable to update your device using recommended process then follow this guide to install firmware manually.

Pre Requisites:

Backup your data first using below mentioned instructions, so that if you lost any data you can recover it easily.

SMS & Call Log – Use SMS, MMS & Call Log Entries Backup & Restore App
Contacts & Settings – Use Android default backup options.
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to Internal/External SD card.
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

Important!

    does it void my warranty or brick my mobile??? is this Samsung official firmware?? it will work in india?? and can i get update if it is available through kies ? plz provide me detail. i am new to android and bought the mobile only 10 day ago. i dont know more about these things. thanks in adv

      yes you can update via kies . Try checking kies by connected ur phone with kies . as it is official update it will not void warranty . but id suggest you not to update it now as this is your new phone you may even brick your phone , do it only when official update is available in india from samsung service centre . using odin is lil risky if you havent used it before .

          Binary counters is a security system that Samsung use to check the warranty. If it’s more than zero means your warranty is void.

            it can be modified or not?? if i upgrade to this xxlpz does it increase or remain 0.

      Yes! You can install it on other region.

    Whats the difference with the I9070XXLPY previously available. Does it fix any problems (like video playback lag)?

      We don’t know if this fix that or not but it surely comes with some bug fixes.

      As long as your device isn’t carrier locked or bought from China or Hong Kong, you can install any general firmware (not made for any specific carrier) for your device.

    Will i lose all data after i manual update tp 4.1.2 via odin?

    same as factory reset? Will have to wipe all data? Like new?

      Technically, you shouldn’t lose data. We updated several time and didn’t lose any data till now. However, we always ask to backup data if in case something go other way.

      This is an official firmware and that shouldn’t happen. If you concern about your device data then try to reflash it or you can go back to recovery and perform a wipe data task to fix this issue.

    Your device shouldn’t be damaged. And it should work fine. Try flashing the firmware again, either following our tutorial or any other tutorial you preferred.
