    There is no “install zip from sd card” option…

      That’ the standard recovery menu but you most likely have ‘apply update from sdcard’ then.

          Don’t know why it’s happening. Try putting the file in internal SD that could help. There are many custom ROM for this smartphone. If you want then we can cover few of those.
