How to flash ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.5 for the Galaxy S3 [updated]

In this article we will guide you to install ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.5 (touch or non-touch) in Galaxy S3, model number I9300 or I9305. For this, we will use a tool called ODIN that will help us to flash the ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.5 in Galaxy S3. However, in this process you may lose all your existing installed apps and personal settings. You should follow this guide carefully to properly backup your data that you can restore later.

SMS & Call LogUse SMS, MMS & Call Log Entries Backup & Restore App
Contacts & SettingsUse Android default backup options.
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to Internal/External SD card.
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Important!

  2. You already have USB Driver Installed for Galaxy S3 in your PC. [Download USB Driver]

    ho, i have totally screwed it! the phone got turned off, now i am on black screen, no boot, no download or recovery mood. is there a way to fix it?

      What you have done? If you followed the process carefully then the shared file won’t harmful for your device. If you can’t boot your device then it’s bricked and you need to take it to Samsung Customer Care. If you can boot then we will try our level best to fix the issue.

        no, i can’t boot at all, when i press the power botton, or power+up/down + home i dont get anything, just black screen. i thought there would be a way to fix it through SD card or something. i dont think there is any samsung customer care in my area. if you can find a way it would be great. i didnt fully follow the guide thats the problem, my fault. i hope that there is a way to fix it

          Forget about recovery or download mode. Can you just turn on your device even it stuck on Samsung logo then we can still help you to fix it.

            it just doesnt do anything, i have odin running, to see when its added, but no sign, it has been connected to the computer cable, the battery is hot, which means its not a charging problem or something, it doesnt turn on

            i think the usb is not charging, i am trying to charge using the charger and give it around 5 minutes then try to run it without recovery

            the thing is, i think its on! but it just doesnt boot or recognized by the pc. because the device itself is hot, which means something is running i guess

    when i extract the cwm recovery i only see a recovery.img and not .tar and pda doesnt recognize the file
